Uxbridge United Welfare Trust is a charitable organisation whose
purpose is to help relieve poverty in the area once defined as the old
Urban District of Uxbridge. This is the area of benefit in which the
Trust operates two charities. The principal charity, for general
welfare purposes, is divided into two sections; the Almshouse Branch
and the Relief in Need branch. A further charity, the Lord Ossulton
Fund, provides grants for educational purposes.
All
applicants are required to complete an official UUWT application form.
There are two versions of this, one for completion by individuals and
one for organisations or groups applying for grant aid. The application
forms are designed to help the trustees make an informed judgement as
to whether the applicant is in genuine need of their help. Time is
always set aside in the trustees' monthly meetings to consider the
applications for grant aid submitted since the last meeting.
