![]() The Charity's Scheme specifies eleven trustees; four of which are nominated by the London Borough of Hillingdon and seven co-opted by the existing trustees. The trustees have overall responsibility for the management and performance of the charity with the key objective of helping relieve poverty in the area once defined as the Old Urban District of Uxbridge. The trustees meet formally eleven times a year to discuss the business of the charity. The meetings are lively affairs with trustees eager to play a full part in the management of the Trust. Training sessions form an integral part of the meetings with the emphasis on the legal and financial responsibilities of a charity trustee. The Trust employs a clerk, an almshouse manager, an assistant clerk, a part-time visiting (Grants & Benefits) officer, two part-time cleaners, a part time cook and a part-time gardener. The charity recognises the value in recruiting trustees who are willing to contribute skills and expertise for the benefit of the Trust as a whole. Currently, there are trustees with knowledge and skills in construction and electrical engineering, healthcare, childcare and care of the elderly, education, environmental matters, financial and property management, housing, marketing, retail, catering, planning and policy development. If you are interested in becoming a trustee or would like any information regarding the Trust, please contact the trustees at this email address:- trustees@uuwt.org |
