Rents
from a portfolio of business and residential properties, shops and
small offices situated in central Uxbridge form a crucial part of the
charity's income. The remaining part comes from interest on investments
linked to the bank rate. The trustees seek to continue the charitable
intentions of their early benefactors through careful stewardship of
the charity's resources.
The majority of the Trust's business
properties were built in the 1700s in a street (Windsor Street) now
designated as a conservation area. The Trust also owns a small number
of residential properties built in the 1900s. To meet health and safety
regulations and to prevent the risk of voids, trustees aim for all
repairs to their properties to be carried out competently and swiftly.
